The weight loss industry gets billions of dollars annual from people trying to get that perfect shape. Many in the weight loss industry promise effortless, fast weight loss, then support this misperception by bombarding with spurious advertising messages. The weight loss industry offering weight loss pills, weight loss diets, weight loss plans. Many supplements, in particular, are of unproven value or have been linked to serious health risks. All of the items promising results of the loss of weight with little or no effort, yet the people who use the products seem to be overweight still. The diet industry never has a minimal interest in you losing weight and absolutely no interest in you keeping the weight off. The only true way to lose weight for good is to adapt a lifestyle change. Natural weight loss is a process, especially when you consider it took years to put the pounds on. If you want to lose the weight and keep it off, you have to ditch your bad habits and adopt new ones. Habits, good or bad, are formed by repetition. Eating habits are no exception. Habits are hard to break. We must not only break old habits, but we must make our goal to form new ones in the same manner through repetition.
Healthy eating tips
- Record your daily calorie intake for a week. Average out your calories for the day and then decrease the calories by 300 – 500.
- Never skip breakfast, or any meal. Skipping meals throws your blood sugar all out of whack and it sets you up to store your next meal as fat.
- Eat five or six small meals a day. This will stop your metabolism from slowing down, keeping your sugar levels at a normal level and this will stop you overeating.
- Try eating the majority of your food earlier in the day, as the majority of the calories will be burned up while you are awake and active.
- Come back to the table. Turn off the television during mealtime, take average-size portions of healthy foods, and concentrate on every bite.
- Drink plenty of fresh, clean water. The recommended daily intake of water is 8 glasses.
Exercise tips
- Remember the benefits of exercise. Being physically fit affects every aspect of your life: you sleep better, eat better, love better, overcome stress better, work better, communicate better, and live better.
- Physical activity does not have to be strenuous to be beneficial. Moderate physical activity, such as brisk walking few times a week, also has health benefits.
- Set a weekly exercise goal and always have a detailed exercise plan. With a well thought out plan you are much more likely to be successful.

- Do not buy junk food. Neither your mate nor your children needs it.
- Always use a list when you shop, and stick to it.
- Plan ahead. Decide what your meals are going to be, and what ingredients you will need. Planning your meals will help you prepare your shopping list.
- Always eat before shopping. It is a fact that shopping when hungry increases your tendency to put extra items in your shopping cart.
- Buy foods you really like. Eating in a healthy manner does not have to be a boring or unrewarding experience.
